Exclusive: Siddharth Nigam on His Childhood Struggles – ‘We Had to Filter Our Demands and Buy Only Basic Necessities’
Siddharth Nigam, a well-known actor in the television and film industry, has come a long way from his humble beginnings. From playing young Emperor Ashoka to making a mark in Bollywood with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, his journey has been nothing short of inspiring. In an exclusive interview, Siddharth opened up about the hardships he faced during his childhood and how those struggles shaped him into the person he is today.
A Childhood Marked by Financial Struggles
Growing up in a middle-class family, Siddharth and his brother, Abhishek Nigam, witnessed their mother’s relentless efforts to provide for them. After losing their father at a young age, financial constraints made life challenging.
“We had to filter our demands and buy only basic necessities,” Siddharth recalls. “There were times when we wanted certain things, but we knew our mother was doing her best to manage everything alone. So, we learned to live with what we had.”
Despite the struggles, his mother ensured that both brothers received a good education and pursued their passions.
From Gymnastics to Acting: A Life-Changing Opportunity
Before entering the entertainment industry, Siddharth was a trained gymnast. His skills led him to win several medals at the national level. However, life had bigger plans for him when he was spotted by a casting team for an advertisement.
“I never thought of becoming an actor. My focus was always on gymnastics, but when the opportunity came, I grabbed it. My first break in an advertisement paved the way for my role in Dhoom 3, where I played the younger version of Aamir Khan,” he shares.
A Lesson in Hard Work and Gratitude
Looking back, Siddharth believes that his struggles played a crucial role in shaping his outlook on life. “Those difficult times taught me the value of money and hard work. Even today, I don’t take success for granted. I remember where I came from and ensure that I stay grounded.”
Now, with a successful career in television and films, Siddharth Nigam hopes to continue making his mother proud and inspiring others with his journey.
“If my story can motivate even one person to never give up, I will consider it a success,” he concludes.
