According to a 123Telugu report, Pooja Hegde recently revealed that 'Retro' is the project she is most proud of. The 'Mohenjodaro' actor expressed her love for the movie, citing the shooting process, the energy on set, and the well-developed nature of her character as reasons for her enthusiasm.
As quoted in the news report, she said, "I am proud of all my films, but Retro is the film I am most proud of. I love everything about it. I love every bit of Retro, be it the way we shot it or created it. The team is full of energy on the set. My character is well-designed. I am telling this without even watching the full movie, as it is still in the editing process."

She mentioned, "I got cast in 'Retro' because Karthik Subbaraj really liked a scene of mine in 'Radhe Shyam'. There are these two emotional scenes which he really liked."
'Retro' marks Pooja Hegde's return to Tamil cinema after her debut with 'Beast' alongside Thalapathy Vijay. The film features Suriya as Mathew Varadharajan and Pooja as Devi, his love interest. The story revolves around a former gangster attempting to lead a peaceful life, only to have his past catch up with him.
The supporting cast includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj. Suriya is expected to portray two different looks in the film.
'Retro' is slated for release on May 1, 2025.
