Lawsuit Filed Against Remo D’Souza and Lizelle D’Souza for Alleged Rs. 11.96 Crore Fraud Involving Dance Group

Remo D'Souza and his wife, Lizelle D'Souza, are in a tough legal situation because they are being accused of theft and financial wrongdoing. A lawsuit was brought against the two in Maharashtra's Thane district, saying they stole Rs. 11.96 crore from a dance group. The case was publicly filed at the Mira Road police station on October 16, 2024, and it involves five other people.
A dancer who is 26 years old made the complaint saying that the accused lied to the dance troupe from 2018 to July 2024. The group was said to have won a dance competition on TV, and Remo D'Souza, his wife Lizelle, and some of their friends were said to have received the Rs. 11.96 crore prize money. The lawsuit, on the other hand, says that they pretended to be the owners of the troupe and stole the money.
Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav (who works for Frame Production Company), Vinod Raut (a police officer), and Ramesh Gupta are the other people named in the case. The case was brought under several parts of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as Section 420 (cheating) and Section 465 (forgery).
The police have stated that they are investigating to find out more information. The accused person will likely be questioned soon so that officials can fully understand the fraud that is being accused. Even though the court process is still going on, this event has definitely sent shockwaves through the entertainment business.
It is well known that Remo D'Souza is a great choreographer and director in the Indian theatre business. He has been a judge on many dance television shows over the course of his long career, such as Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dance Plus, and India's Best Dancer. Through his work on TV, Remo has become a popular name since 2009. From 2018 to 2024, he hosted Dance Plus and India's Best Dancer.
Remo is good at more than just acting on TV. He is also a good director and producer. He is currently getting ready for the release of his new movie, Be Happy, which will first be shown on Amazon Prime Video. The movie, which stars Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma, is about a dad who is single and has a little girl. Well-known stars like Nora Fatehi, Nassar, Johny Lever, and Harleen Sethi are also in the movie. Be Happy is still set to come out in the next few weeks, even though there are some legal issues.
Remo D'Souza's image is hurt by the lawsuit, and it makes people wonder about how money is handled in the competitive dance business. The dancer who filed the complaint allegedly said that the money that was owed to the dance group was never given. This has started a legal battle that could affect Remo and his wife Lizelle for a long time.
As the investigation goes on, more information about how the money was reportedly stolen and whether the person being investigated has been involved in similar fraud in the past is likely to come to light.
Right now, everyone is focused on the outcome of this court case. The entertainment business is holding its breath to see how things will go for one of its most famous choreographers.
